Backend

Backend Overview

The off-chain API surface and canonical Matching Engine state for the MVP.

Responsibilities

The Backend hosts the frontend-facing API surface. In the MVP it may also host the Matching Engine module responsible for Order Book management, Reserved Collateral, matching, and Trade production.

Canonical Postgres

Backend Postgres is canonical for Signed Orders, Reserved Collateral, Order Book state, Fills, Trades, and Trade Execution idempotency.

Not settlement

The Backend does not own custody, Positions, Resolution, Settlement, Claims, or Refunds. Those responsibilities live in the on-chain Programs.
